any idea on the max length of the input cables running from the sub to the sound card for an x-530?

I am looking for a desk chair for my room and assuming I can get my main rig to play nice with my receiver I wanted to move the X-530's into my bedroom.

Id like to if possible mount the sub under the seat, and the surround speakers around the chair. I want to check what is the rough max length for the input cables first though.

I had that set awhile ago...I think they were around 6ft, not that long.

Or do you mean the main data cable that goes to the sub? That is maybe a little longer.

No I want to extend the cables that go from the Front Right to the Sound card (the F, C/S, R Cable).

I dont want to extend the D-sub like cable, too much room for error there.

Yeah I am looking at extending them by probably 10' or so.

Even at stock length, the cables are too damn short.

Now that I am looking at mounting the speakers on the chair, I need a good 10' extra so that I can have slack to be able to move the chair around and what not.

10' is fine if its the leads going to the speakers, just make sure you use a decent speaker wire, and if you can, solder and shrink tube to make them sturdy and make a better connection. Really, you can probably run them as far as you like within reason.

It is headphone 3/8 jack from the sound card and rca for interconnects on the sub.

You will have to cut the RCAs and do some splicing. I had an older 5.1 set that i had to extend the rear speaker leads on.

and where is the fun in that thideras ;) j/k :P extenders have less error margin at least

I already have the necessary cables from other experiments that I have done so no need to cut, solder, shrink.

Just gotta find some way of supporting the cable yet leaving it with slack (thinking along the lines of telephone cord but heavier duty) to keep the cables neat, off the floor, and from becoming a big tangled mess.

Phone cord-like headphone extension cable. It uses 1/4" jacks instead of the miniature variety, but that's easy enough to change using adapters.

need three though, thats the only problem.

I have an idea, I need to do some research on it though.
