CPU showing up a bit slow

Hey all,

I'm running a XP 1800+ in an AK31 v3.1 and bone stock the CPU is showing up as 1.1.... Mhz.

Anyone else have this problem, is this normal, have I been vicitimized by the CPU spirits????

what's your fsb and mulitplier?

FSB is at 200, Dram is at 266, and the multiplier is at Default. Thinking that's the problem....I found someone w/ the same board/cpu combo running at 152.5 X 11.5.

Think that's it? I want to join the seti team, but not until I can pull a little weight...

Sounds like it's dropping back to default settings because your FSB is too high, take your FSB back to 133 with a multiplier of 11.5, good luck.

Is V 3.1 Your bios version?

Update your bios..

Try this

Multiplier: 10.5x
CPU Ratio: 151

Just try that and see if it works...

I had same problem on EPOX 8KHA And many others on EPOX 8KHA+

If you're overclocking and it boots up @ 1.1GHz after a bad OC, then maybe it's resetting the settings. If you haven't OCed yet, then it's because of your FSB, as all AthlonXP must run at 133MHz default. So set the FSB to 133, and you'll have your XP 1800+ (133x11 = 1470 = XP1800+)

Edit : oops !!! sorry, XP1800+ have 11.5x multiplier (sorry, I misread the thread), so it's 1530MHz, not 1470 !

As always, when in doubt, come to the Forum.

I put the CPU Clock (FSB) at 133 with the 11.5 multiplier and *bam* I'm running at 1530.

The AK31 and Cosair CAS 2 PC2700 256 MB (x2) sticks of memory are handling the all the adjustments I've picked up here as well.

If I'm not mistaken, if ya don't unlock yer mults it's fsb only.
