so which one is BETTER for 3D GAMING, since they run around the same price range? I think i also heard that the 7500 does not have pixel or vertex shaders like the 8500. are there any games out right now that are using this feature? Is it even visible? Thanks a lot.

7500 can be found for $102 US online in retail box I believe. It is a damn good card, everyone I have talked to has been happy as I have.

It is awesome for 3 D gaming I can not complain. UT I get over 100 fps at adept level one on one at 110% gameplay speed. Read the review from Dec 3, card is better with the omega drivers

http://www.sharkeyextreme.com/hardware/videocards/article.php/932821

The review says it is faster than the Ultras even though Ultra gets few more fps but image quality is no where even close to the 7500 and it beats the G2 Ti200 series cards. Overclock it and then you can really see it fly

7500 has Pixel Tapestry architecture
8500 has PIXEL TAPESTRY II

Also 7500 only card that does 1024x768 TV out

Hey ciscokid Ive been searching everywhere for a 7500 and the cheapest I can find it for is $150 for a retail.($199 at stores) Do you have a retail or OEM. Cuz I seen the OEMz for about $116 but do they perform the same? By the way what site did you find it for $102? thanx

do the oem's have the same difference with retail like the 8500's do? also since they have pixel shaders, whats so much better about the radeon 8500? i know these questions are probably answered in your review but i don't have much time and if u don't mind, i will read it later today. Thanks

Mine is a retail card I paid $199 canadian for it = about $125-130 US

Woops I may have made mistkes before as I just glanced quickly at pricewatch prices and though $102 was for retail 7500, I was wrong most prices are OEM

Best I can see is this Power Magic ATI Radeon 7500 64MB DDR Dual VGA AGP TV Retail . $ 132 I have seen reviews and their cards come 290/230

There are ATI retail cards at 147 US

i was just benching my dads Celly Tualatin at 1.44 and my Rage Fury Pro and 3dmark looks at least twice as good as it does on my geforce2......sure it may be running at 10fps, but damn is it beautiful.....random blabber, so unless youre getting a Geforce3 the 7500 is definately a better choice, image quality sucks on g2s...

well on high quality Car chase thats about the average, but i get 1440 3dmarks

think about this though my friend got 1500 with a 1600+ athlon and an MX200....not bad at all for ATI and Intel....

also the Rage Fury Maxx is a good card but dont useWin2k or XP on it...wont work fully.....its on par with original geforce SDR...

The best and about the only drivers to use are the 7925's alternates on Ati's site, built my nephew his computer and he thinks it's "cool" had modded it with heat and ramsinks. If you can pick one up super cheap mod it to the Maxx lol!!!

I see you all talking about the 7500's... here's my Leadtek GeForce2 Ti ($118 US) card's 3dmak2k1 score:

http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2371988

255/520, @152 FSB, detonator 23.11, Win2k pro SP2, DirectX 8.1

I'm sure the Ati's really blow my card away when it comes to image quality though.

What scores do you all have with the 7500's?

well Cisco Kid has 5090, but his cpu is 180mhz slower and he has PC2100 ram...also i can vouch for the ATI image qualtiy anthing looks twice as good on my rage fury pro than it does on the geforce2...
