In order to facilitate reservoir filling I need to make the top panel removable, its currently riveted. It looks relatively simple, drill out 6 rivets and replace with screws. Has anyone done this before? Am I missing anything?

Another option would be to holesaw a 4" or so (need to be able to get my fingers in to grab the filler plug) opening in the top and cover it with a snap-in type plug but so far I can't find such a plug any larger than about 1".

Make it removable. Or maybe a hatch that swings open instead of a huge hole.

Yea, that's the way I was planning to go unless someone had a good reason not to. Far and away the easiest too.

What kind of res are you using? I thought about using a fill port in the top of my case with a line running down to the res but I've got to tap into the plug in the top of my res/pump combo. But I am planning an upgrade later this year and will probally replace this pump anyway.

I'm using an XSPC single bay reservoir. I thought about a fill port through the top too but the filler on the res is 1/2" so wouldn't be so easily plumbed and there might be space issues between the top of the res and top of the case. I also though about leaving extra tubing so I could just pull the res out of the front of the bay far enough to get to the filler; but I decided I didn't want any excess tubing and the res fits really tightly into the bay so working it out of there is a PITA.

I just now drilled out the rivets holding the top on; I'm good to go as soon as I run to the store and get a few flat head screws (front panel hits round heads). I think this will be the best way for me.
