My new Swiftech MCX370

Well I brought this home with great expectations.. According to some reviews I've seen this thing with the stock fan would perform stightly worse then a sk6 w/delta black lable (1-2 degrees C higher) and about the same with a delta black lable installed.

I could not even boot up with the new HSF installed on my Tbird @ 1.44 I had to go all the way back down to 1415 (149x9.5) to get it to boot up then I was so sick I just pulled it off so sorry I have no temps to report with the tbird. I did however install it on my Duron and it will run stable @ 1050 and about 5c cooler then my stock HSF would run the chip at this speed.

I did really like the clip for installation but I cant recommend anyone buy one of these for high end chips they plan to overclock. Buy the MCXC370 w/ a copper base if thats your intention. I cant really complain though because I got hte HSF for under 20 bucks so at that price its surely worth it.

If you could find a way to mount it that would make a awesome graphics card cooler.

Haha I put the Papst 33 cfm fan on my sk6 and the temps didnt even go up a whole degree celcious , mbm still reads the same exact temp. I also put the delta black lable on the MCX370 and the temps dropped 2c! now thats pretty impressive I guess the Swiftech just needs a little more force I will try the delta @ 7v I should get about the same temps as the Papst fan was giving me originally.

I thought about getting one for some Socket 7 cooling.. But I may hold out for the copper.

As for Socket A, I'm all about the MCX462.

If the MCX462 wasnt so expensive and would fit on my epox boards I would have one already.

$25 shipped OBO. I just got it but a buddy offered me a used Swiftty 462. I haven't tried it out yet. still in box with protective coating on the base of heatsink. It is a nice piece of hardware.
