How would these cards hold up together and is the X1650 a bit more recent I am trying to remember what ATi's answer was to the 6800GT I think it was the X800 Series. I have a 6600gt and I was going to use a DVI-HDMI cable to my 26" HDTV problem is I can't seem to change the resolution to what my TV can do in the mvidia control panel.

My TV keeps saying out of range I was thinking maybe the X1650 Pro would have better HD capabilities than the 6800GT and maybe the ATi driver will maybe have better options to get it working.

Both cards are the same price £40 I am considering 1 or the other I don't game on my PC much use my PS3 for that but will be soon StarCraft 2 is getting closer.

if you're going to be using it for a HDTV a x1650 would be much better. It's newer, and ati has much better custom resolution support than nvidia does. I had a 7900GT on my HTPC and I replaced it with a x1650 pro because even that didn't have as much tv support as the x1650 pro.

Thank you yeah I agree that was my problem or is my problem my HDTV can do 1366 x 768 pixels resolution now the nVidia control panel see's my TV after I get windows to install the driver for it. It see the HDTV as VESTEL but anyways the NV CC auto give my HDTV a resolution of 1622x1533 and I can't change it it won't let me add a custom one either.

If I do I put the correct resolution 1366 x 768 pixels and select the interlaced option because it's a 1080i TV and I click on test it says TEST ERROR and thats it. My friend has a X800 in his PC but he's using a DVI-VGA cable and windows found his TV and ATi's driver set the resolution with no problems.

yea nvidia is awesome at high end gaming, but pretty sucky when it comes to anything else. If you do get an ati card, download powerstrip if you need to set any custom resolutions. It has a lot of HDTV resolutions, along with their timings, preloaded into it.
