I am trying to setup my motherboard, just bought a Corsair powersupply for it. The powersupply has a ton of plugs, but not a single 4 pin ATX (secondary power) for the motherboard. Can I use one of the PCI-E plugs? It will fit, but it leave two plugs sticking out the side.

The exact power supply is a CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX, exact board is an Asus M2N-SLI.

I tried just using the 24pin power connector, but the unit will not boot. I have an AMD 6400x2 on it with Kingston RAM.

James is right. That PSU does have a 4-pin. Split the 8-pin.
