So I install windows (again and again) I install drivers (again and again) and then a the message "found new hardware" pops-up. I install the drivers of the realtek 888T audio codec that came with my mobo (dfi 790fx-m2r) I reboot and the same message pops-up again and I have no sound. I install the drivers again I reboot and after that something very unexpected happens.... the message "found new hardware appears" and I install the drivers and still no sound.................. I'm about to go mad please someone out there help because I have started thinking of buying a new sound card.
thanks in advance netmask :)

Are you installing the most current drivers for that card?

If you open Device Manager, what is listed with a "!"?

The damn thing I'm trying to install. @#$%^#@$%^&* Windows calls it "audio device on high definition audio bus".

It's been 7 consecutive hours I'm trying to make this thing work without any results. I found some newer drivers tho (r185 instead of r179) installed them but the same thing goes on and on.

What youre seeing is the HDMI audio for your video card. There should be a driver for it on DFIs website.
