okay, my friend is trying to disable his onboard video on his gateway ESS 433C and install a new video card in a pci slot. problem is we can't seem to disable it. we tried disabling it in the device manager to no avail, and the bios is one of those retarded priority ones which won't let the integrated leave. also, gateway has nothing of help on their tech site. any help is appreciated.

Try hitting f10 or f11 to get into the bios, instead of "delete". It's one of those but I can't remember which. It may be f12 comming to think of it. Not sure which, but I know it's on of them.

i'm not quite sure what you're trying to say but it could have been my fault. we have no trouble getting into bios, it's just that bios keeps remembering the integrated graphics even if we take disable it. welp, back to the drawing board.

I had A pc100 m599lmr that had onbard video and you will not be able to disable it you can go in your BIOS and should find A setting in the plug and play settings (may be in a diff place 4 yours) that says PRIMARY GRAPHICS ADAPTER Pick PCI the AGP is onboard video. this should do it .

NOTE you will hear A few beeps ever time you boot up becouse it checks for the primary display and then the 2nd the 2nd will be your onboard agp and will beep if you don't have a monitor hook to the onboard but will not hurt a thing. let me know how it goes becouse mine run great tell i try to shut down win it would hag at shut down. GOOD LUCK ][/QUOTE;)

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were having trouble getting into the bios. Jap901 is right, see if you can switch it to "init first display : PCI" or something simmilar. Failing that, there may be a jumper on the motherboard you have to set, to disable the onboard video.
