I've got a little spare cash and currently I'm thinking of either getting a good TV card & soundcard setup or a HD3870XT to put in CrossFireX with my HD3870X2 .. So I've got a few questions ..
Does CFX run with 8.3? What performance increase will I see (in game and in benches)? and ... Is it worth it??
(Game wise: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Crysis - Source games .. Benchmark wise: 3D06)
If anyone has links to threads or web pages with testing or reviews of CFX that would be helpful ..
Cheers

Cheers for that Shiggity .. It persuaded me to go for it .. so have a beer ! Anyways, I've just bought a HD3870XT to CrossFireX with my HD3870X2 :bday:
It also gave me an excuse to upgrade my PSU, went for an Akasa PowerMax 850W because of it being CrossFire certified and pretty dam efficient (I'm getting complaints about the power bill you see).
Both will come tomorrow so i'll start a new thread then full of pics and benches ..

Does anyone have a link to a 3870x2 vs. 2x 3870 cf?

since PCI Express X2 and even 1.1 or 1 is rarely if ever saturated, you probably wont see much difference.
However, If you are running on a board with a PCIx16 + a PCIx16 with a 4x shared bandwidth you may see more performance change.
The real benifit of the x2 is that it works just like one card.. and therefor it is nice and easy to run!
