By mixing metals I assume everyone means using multiple water blocks which vary in metal right? which means if I am using a copper block for the cpu and polished nickel plated blocks for the gpu's then i need to use antifreeze?

Ah ok, no aluminum in my setup. How often should the water be changed? Like how fast does it become acidic typically.

As long as you have some kind of anti algae/corrosive in the loop you shouldnt need to change the water for at least a year or two.

I usually change it when it starts to become opaque.
