I don't really know anything, what brand or specific model should I look for for My Slot A Classic Athlon. I want something nice and quiet that moves a good amount of air. Is that too much to ask ? :)

Also, what considered quiet db wise? What should I stay under? 30? 25?
Basically you shouldn't exceed full load temps of over 45-50.
Full load meaning running your computer at 100% stress program ie: Seti, CPUBurn, Folding, 3DMark2001, Prime95 and more.
With a slot I'm not positive since slot heatsinks were discontinued along time ago.
But I had a Golden Orb.
If you don't mind about cash then Water Cooling. Your not going to find the best cooler avaliable for Slot's since there space is kept to a minimal since stuff will hit the board.

If you're going to do some moderate overclocking, look into the Alpha P7125 with some quiet fans. With 32db fans, I can hear a fairly faint whine, so maybe fans in the low to mid 20db's range is what you want. A P7125 should give you good results with low noise. It can get a bit expensive, though. If you're doing some light overclocking, an Orb would suffice. You may have some high temperatures, but it's a good stock heatsink replacement. The fan is alomost inaudible if you have your case cover on

Ahh I knew there was an opposite from the Alpha P3125 but I didn't know which so I couldn't mention the P3125 since it wouldn't fit.
