Personally i like my P3V4X but probably the best one would be an Abit BX board (dont know model number  ) make sure you get one with Abit Sofmenu or Softbios or something like that it lets you go from 66 to 200 in 1 mhz increments....

i guess ABIT BE6-II is pretty good too. Another BX board.

make sure you get the latest revision though, there is a lot of confusion surrounding this mobo....

You can't beat the stability of a BX board, and you can't beat the options of Softmenu III. The BE6-II rev2 is definitely what you'd want. The P3V4X was ok for me, but the memory benchmarks were really low. Now I want a BE6-II :D

have you installed the Via 4 way interleave enabler that will realy help your memory benchmarks, at 133 cs2 according to sandra i was on par with an 815 and not too far off a bx board...try it you will be happier...

The board's dead now. I always learn new things when it's too late. I'd still recommend the BE6-II. It has RAID support, and it's a BX board. Need I say more :D

True.. when it comes to Slot1 mobos, the BX boards are unbeatable. The stability on the Abit BE6 and BE6-2 Rev1 isn't so good but the Rev2 is much better. They've made pretty much all the refining on the Rev2. The stability-King of BX board would be the MSI BX Master but so far I have seen them available with Promise UDMA66 on-board controller instead of UDMA100. Maybe the newer version of it has that, i can't say for sure.

Abit BE6-II v2.0 is definitly a great choice...
also supports ATA/100 and raid.. and softmenu III not II
(like i'm stuck w/ on my VT6X4) so u'll have an easier time
w/ overclocking. Just download the latest bios, and then the latest drivers for all your hardware, and u should be set..
and if you have 2 harddrives or can spare an extra few coins for another, its definitly recommended for RAID 0 baby :p

No doubt, the BE6 II v 2. is a great board, if your determined to
run that P3 650. Cost, about $100. What would I do? Sell P3 650
and buy ga60xet--cele 900. Your almost guaranteed 1.2 and
have support for those future T's...1.5+ About the same money.
Just my opinion........

BE6-II Rev2.

ATA100 Support
Raid
Softmenu III
BX Chipset

That board in my opinion is the #1 board for the last 2.5 years.

It supported till now(still being bought as well.)

It ranges from P2 slot to 1.1gig P3 or Celeron.

Stable BX chipset.

Softmenu III and Raid and ATA100 support.

And the "dream" overclocking board.

It also has 1/4 dividers so never to worry that PCI is out of spec.

BE6-2 Rev2 is definitely good. Wish you good luck getting one because they are difficult to find. A few places where they sell em want over $150. So freakin expensive. They've raised the price. Used to cost as low as 110ish. Supply and Demand maybe??.. If you or anybody can find that board with good price, then let us know. I don't mind getting another for my second P3 1000E cD0 and 600E.

In the same boat here, love the P3B-F. I think I've been spoiled, will it be this easy the next time?

The only thing holding back the BX boards is no 1/2 AGP, and I refuse to run a PCI video card, echhhh!

Anyone have any experience with the Abit SH6 (815e, ATA100)? I'm feeling drawn to it. ;)

Happy New Year to all!

Abit BE6-II bx 133 does not exist.

But they do have Abit BX133 and it is a socket 370 type of mobo, so it will not work with your P3 650 Slot1 CPU.

Abit BX133 is alright... I've seen the review a while back that the BE6-2 slightly outperforms a BX133, but they both are nice boards. See my siggy below and click any of the links to see what my BE6-2 can do. It's a one bad mutha! :burn:
