Seems one of my hard drives crashed last night since it is now separated from a span and unrecognized in the BIOS or windows.
Is there anyway I can pull the data off this or is it lost forever?
First off... is it making any noises?
Does it spin up or not?
try freezing it overnight in your freezer

OK apparently it was a fluke, I guess I lost a connection overnight (?), I disconnected and reconnected the drives and it works again.
If its any correlation I did set my HT Bus to 1000 Mhz from ~850 Mhz to put my system back to stock.
Putting a drive in the freezer overnight? Never heard of that

Putting a drive in the freezer overnight? Never heard of that :eek:That should only be done as a last resort and it will only help if there is a mechanical issue with it.......the whole contracting and expanding thing with the temp change.

I would back up the data on that drive while it is working, that quirk may be a sign of future trouble.

Hmm seems my hard drives were overheating. I had them stacked on top of another more of less and had no active cooling on them. Now I have them separated with a fan cooling them. No problems.. thus far.
Would overclocking/underclocking the LDT bus cause problems with hard drive failure?
