Nvidia keeps delaying the 9800GTX and I'm eventually going to break down and buy one of these 8800GTX's they keep putting on sale.

Newegg has the BFG 8800GTX OC on sale for $319 after a $50 rebate, plus the shipping costs. Still one of the best deals I've seen recently. Must purchase by 3/31 to qualify for rebate.

Dis one ain't a refurb/return like the other deal I posted from EVGA ;)

You are crazy man, get a 8800GTS for $250, that GTX is obsolete and history, after you bought it it's aftermarket value will drop with at least $50

Unless you play games at 1680x1050 or higher resolution!

it doesnt start to make a difference till higher than that, I have had all the cards and I had a 8800ultra for a couple weeks not to long ago, at 1680x1050 the g92 wins hands down.

add some AA in there.... id much rather take the GTX at thoes rez's with 4x-8x AA than a g92... but a g92 everywhere else :)

I know Crysis is probably currently a worst case scenario, but look at this (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=551348). I was taken aback by the VRAM usage personally.

Why buy a video card like the G92 or a GTX & not plan on using AA & AF?

As far a Crysis sucking, diff. strokes for diff. folks.

Heh, I haven't purchased one yet have I? ;)

I'm personally not a fan of BFG - XFX seems to be my preferred brand of video card.

8800GTS with the G92 core is an awesome card and would likely be my next purchase if the 9800GTX either, A: costs a small fortune, or B: sucks as bad as all the rumint seems to point to.

Oh, and I need 1900 x 1200 for my 24" LCD.

Crysis: Awesome at first, but then starts to get old. Gorgeous game visually.

Stupid video card is the last piece I'm waiting on for the new rig. Everything is built EXCEPT for the VC - so hurry it up Nvidia!!!
