ok i know you can get 3dmark06 and loop it. i have 3dmark06 and it is registered but it will not let me loop the program. so last night i downloaded ati tool .27b3... i noticed there is a 3d view option and a artifact option. which one of these do you run to test the overclock? how long does it have to run to be considered stable? Or should i use another program to test my o/c?

You can use the artifact checking option in ATiTool, or you can use FURMark (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/) to really load up your card. With FURMark, you have to manually look for artifacts whereas the ATiTool artifact checking supposedly finds them for you automatically.

I'd load up a game that uses the graphics card heavily and get into some situation where you can continue indefinitely without having to be in the game. Turn on all the options, and just spin the character around or something. Exactly how to do this varies between games but I know a lot of games it works for.

Not sure why you cant loop 3dmark06. That is what I do to test.

Loop "nature" in 3dm01.. That'll do the trick.

I don't think you can loop in the free (as in beer) version...

06 or 01? The free version of 01 you can.

And "stable" also depends on the drivers and the game you want to play. Some games don't do as good as some..

well i my buddy gave me his 3dmark06 that came with his video card...i can put my profiles and stuff online...but i cant loop 3dmark for some reason...

on another note so far ati tool artifact has ran for 3 hours no artifacts...and actually i never get a artifact if im in game if my o/c it too high...it just goes to a black screen and recovers...then i know i have ot change it...but as of lately i havent had time to play alot of video games so i need a tool to do it for me
