View Full Version : Titan Amanda TEC problems
I though it would be a good idea to put my now unused Titan Amanda TEC cpu hs into my work computer which was just using the stock intel hs. I had got it all in and ready to go, pressed the power button, a lous screech came from the TEC controller card! implying a TEC failure. So I powered down and checked it all and there was a wire loose from what looks like a transisfor on the bottom of the hs.
First off can anyone confirm or disconfirm that is it infact a transistor for me please. Whatever it is it has three legs and the middle one has snapped off right at the base. Way to close for me to solder.

The two places highlighted with red should be connected
I was wondering if there was any way to either replace the component or short it in some way so I dont get the screeching TEC failure. Obviosly with the TEC working which im pretty sure it still is.
Thanks in advance. I can take more photos and try to get more information if people need it.
anybody?... please... someone

well the 3 wires that are there you have ground, + and a temp sensor wire. ur best bet would be to undo the skrews and take the tec out and resolder.

thanks for the reply.
there is nothing there to solder... its come off right at the base. and im poo at small soldering anyway.
any other ideas?
Conductive pen, knife, glue
Conductive pen, knife, glue
how could i use them?
i got the component off... gunna see if i can read the model number to replace it.
glue the wire near the little metal nub and glue it. Then draw conductive traces, might work. But yeah, call who makes it or find the replacement part.
it has "~52AH LM35 D7" written on it. the connections were really weak and have all come off now due to me trying to take it out. so i think a replacement is in order. is there any way of wiring it so it gives a constant low down the temp wire? cos that should work as it would just put the TEC on all the time which would be fine.
i e-mailed titan but they havnt replied yet.
thanks for the advice so far.

Are you sure that last number is not a "Z"?

This might be a possible replacement if it is a temp sense ic. Got a maginifying glass handy?

I was going to say, you might could ask for an engineering sample ;)

Sounds like a good idea.
had to pay for shipping on the engineering sample so got some cheaper of fleabay. will update with pics n stuff when i get them and solder it all up.
