I'm am adding Wcing soon and want to know of Compression Fittings are any good, and if they are better than worm drive metal clamps?

I personally use the worm clamps. Never had any problems/leaks for years. I don't think watercooling has enough pressure to justify using compression fittings.

Compression fittings have a drawback. When using larger tubing like 1/2" id 3/4" od, the outside measurements of the compression fittings are way to large to be put on most CPU and NB blocks.

If you run small tubing and rather thin walled tubing they will work. We don't recommend that due to flow and hose kinking problems. There is a performance increase from 3/8" id to 1/2" id, and it's enough for many of us to run 1/2" id.

Compression fittings really look great though, and they cost a lot more.

Have you read all the WC stickies here and over at xtreme forums? Some great comparisions of hose sizes done by some VERY experianced WC'ers. And pumps/blocks/liquids/rads etc etc.

And this is needed, read up and DL the flow rate calculator.

Thanks for the info. I have WCed before and used 3/8 ID 5\8 OD tubing. For the CPU clock I will use worm drives and the rad etc. I will use compression fittings.
