I'm the webmaster if a small gaming clan CENSORED and we are thinking about getting a real name CENSORED , CENSORED , etc.

how much will this cost?

LOL! But it is just so much more interesting now. Only you and I know what the real meaning is!!!!! :D

But to address your point, it depends on where you shop. The going rate seems to be $15-20 per year/us, to register a domain name. Just do a search like "How to register a domain name". That should point you in the right direction!

I registered my domain at www.seaporthost.net for $150 to get it for 10 years. I think its about $10-15 a year, depending on how many years you choose to hold it. I paid it all upfront, no bills or anything like that. They also have a nice web-based GUI for managing your domain name.

Of course, once you get a domain name, thats not the end of things. You still need to secure a computer to host it on. My personal domain gets hosted off my computer on cable, so it doesn't cost me extra. With a big clan site, though, I imagine you'd want something more serious for hosting, which would require more money.
