Ok... I'm sure this could go under one of the mobo sections but it really has nothing to do with either... just the bios chip in general... but if I'm wrong I apologize and please do move it to the apropriate section:D Anyway... I was just wondering if I bought a cmos chip from somewhere like radioshack for example... could I program it as a back up cmos?
not sure, but i have heard of connecting the RAM to the CMOS, so info isn't lost when power is turned off

yea u would. What u need is a programing board and a PROM chip (the same type as ur bios chip) and then all u need to do is find the code for the bios and just program it to the new chip. OR buy a chip (microcontroller) copier.
