Hello
I have just purchased a Sapphire ATI HD3870x2, being new I'm not sure if it is working correctly.
When I run GPU-Z it shows the card as being R680 it shows crossfire disabled.
I have only 1 card and I thought cross fire normally requires 2 (master & Slave) however I thought the 3870x2 has 2 GPUs on the card and has crossfire built in so to speak.
I see from threads on this site http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=548261(Brolloks) the screen shots of GPU-z which shows crossfire enabled (2 GPUS).
I am using Vista XP 64 bit with Catalyst 8.3
What am I doing wrong or am I just confused?
Thanks

Did you verify that GPU-Z is correctly identifying the crossfire status?
Run benchmark with crossfire flag enabled and disabled in CCC and see if GPU-Z reflects those indications.

I had to use ATI Tray Tools to get it to enable.
"Vista XP 64-bit" huh? which is it
Under 64 bit Vista gpu-z doesn't correctly identify cf on the 3870x2 (at least, maybe other cf setups too)
most likely it's fine
run rivatuner's hardware monitoring on the second chip and watch the core clock and temp, if the core clock jumps out of 2d mode and the temp jumps then it's working.
Note: CF doesn't work in a window, so you'll need to log and then start a game that CF works in (crysis works) full screen
Also if CF is working you'll see a HUGE frame rate difference between fullscreen and windowed in crysis

Sorry for the typo its Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
I will try as suggested and let you know
thanks,
Under Vista 64 it reads disabled for me (with one card or two) just run 3D03 and if you score over 75K you know it's working.
