alright i am gonna be horked off if this card isnt any good.

i just recied a 8600GTS 512 meg card from XFX as a replacment, i popped it in and it WILL NOT out put to the monitor.

my monitor is a 37" Vizio HDTV i usually run 1360x768.

i have un installed drivers re installed drivers, it will bot and i can hear everything boot normally and hear it ask me to install the new card but i cant because i cant see.

right now i have both a 8500GT installed (so i can see) and the 8600GTS installed, i installed drivers that way, switched to the 8600 as the primary monitor and nothing still.

driver version is 171.16 but i wouldnt think that would matter much because it doesent even display durring post.

on a side note GPU-Z says that SLI is disabled but aviailable between a 8500gt and a 8600gts

Is the card fully inserted and wired up to the psu? Try clearing the cmos, but it sounds like a DOA card...

tried that, the only other thing i could think of is i am going from DVI to VGA (theres a standard VGA on this tv) but if it cant display to it from that then yea its DOA and i am gonna be ****ed.

there was some output for a moment durring the welcome screen right before it goes to the desktop but its all distorted and really brown, i also tried both top and bottom slots

Uninstall drivers-->boot into safe mode & run DC-Pro-->turn-off PC-->Remove 8500GT-->Install 8600GT (Don't forget the power plug if there is one!)-->turn-on PC-->If you still see nothing then try a different monitor if you can.

it can take S- video, tried a whole different computer setup, still no go.
i am ****ed off now because despite them sending me a 8 seres card its junk and it took them for ****in ever to acually send it!

it only took them 1 day to diagnose the card but it took them 30 more to send a god damn replacement

edit:

here a tid bit of information that would have been useful

[MARK_C - 03/25/2008] Hello "Niku". The double 4 pin to 6 pin adaptor is required for that card. This card requires 12v and 5v power. Try the card using that adaptor and see if it is funtioning. The PCIE 6 pin connector from your power supply only supplies 12v power. If we need to RMA the card we will. Mark

i personaly though that it was with 8800 and up cards and there nothing in the tiny box they sent me that states any thing about needing to supply 5v to the card, but it still sounds odd to me. we'll see, a local place says they should have some in tommorow

you know i just realized they never sent me this "adaptor" for the power connector, i have a regular 6 pin PCI express connector....something sounds bogus to me
