I've searched the internet and in most forums people are saying DDR2 won't fit if my notebook came with DDR. I know this isn't true because both use 200 pins. my DDR ram uses 2.5V and i think that DDR2 uses 1.8V so i'm not sure if these are compatible. My laptop uses a pentium M processor but i'm not sure about the chipset. thanks

No. Doesn't matter pin count or voltage..mainboard won't reconize the sticks, and speeds. PLus the slots won't match up, the "nitch" in the memory sticks from DDR to DDR2/pc2 are different by millimeters.

I believe DDR2(PC2) is 240pin on Laptops.

DDR2 will not work,

A dual core CPU will not work on a 915 chipset motherboard
A 120v PSU will not work from a 240V recepticle.

Just because it may fit does not mean it is compatible.

No you cant but if you try could you please videotape the results?

In reality, no you really cant. The pins are different and it will not work at best, at worst you'll get a pretty light show and maybe some flames.

DDR2 and DDR have notches in different places to prevent people from putting accidently one into another.

You'd be surprised at what some folks can cram into a memory slot though :p
