I am installing a Celeron 1.2 FC-PGA with a Vantec CCK-6035D on a Asus P3C-S. The board is a Slot-1 board, and I am using a slotket. With the fan that comes with the Vantec (a Delta loud-as-hell but awesome), there isn't enough room between the HSF and my memory. Are there any good low-profile fans out there (3-4mm)? Can I run this without a fan on the heatsink? I've thought about just mounting a fan directly over the heatsink on the side wall of the case, but not sure how effective that would be.
Will a slot 1 work with a new celeron? I thought only the new chipset from Intel worked with the Tualatin cpu core. I would just see if you could get it to post with out a fan hooked up.

the bx chipest also supports the new celeron
if you only have 1 stic of memory then move it to the slot furvest from the heatsink.
unfortunatly their are not many good slimline fans, ys-tech and delta do ones
another idea is to change to a 1U or small heatsink like the sk6?

I tried using an Iwill slotket, but I could not get any video. I heard that the Asus MBs are particular about other kinds of slotkets, so I bought the Asus 370DL, so we'll see what happens... I may just try and put a 92mm fan on the side of the case and put some ducting toi direct the air directly on the heatsink.
