I have a Sapphire x800gto2 that died within the warranty period, but I've had no success with an RMA through sapphire. Every time I've tried to send an email to the athlonmicro address they instructed me to send it to I get a bounceback. I've pretty much given up on them and their warranty service, it's out of warranty now even though it was still in warranty when I initially submitted the RMA request.

Basically the story is at a lanparty about six months ago my card started artifacting badly during a Dawn of War session, lots of triangles spinning on the screen. The card temps were not reported as being in excess of 70c. I also started getting random "droppings" on the windows desktop. I've since replaced the card with another, but I'd like to get this one working again if possible for an upcoming build, unless it is truly dead. Even now if I run a 3dmark it will run and I'll start to see random triangles or flashing boxes appearing on the screen.

On examination of the card I've noticed one component (it's the uppermost component in the picture with the copper strands exposed), labeled "1.5 FALCO 0427" on the end of the card that looks like the top has cracked off. Do you think this could be causing the issues or do the issues sound like a dead GPU or dead RAM?

Sorry about the horrible quality of the picture, I have nothing available to me with higher resolution. Thanks.

I wouldn't mess around with the E-mails, I would just call Sapphire to get the ball rolling on your RMA.

Support Phone Number: 1-909-594-3128 (according to Neweggs link)
