Does anyone know which of the L1 bridges, that could still be locked, which would cause me not to have any of the .5 multipliers??
I have a 1600+ XP. Everything looks fine...maybe some super glue is covering one of the contacts???
I hate to start all over again...if I could figure out which bridge is responsible (if thats possible), I could just re-do that one.
Thanx, Brian
Knowing the bridge functions would be nice. I can't find any. Hope someone posts them here.
Even digit multplier adjustment still gives you something for your work.
Can you get back to your default 10.5x?
Thinking about trying it myself. Which technique are you using?

I had that problem with my XP1700. I have removed the connection on the L1 bridges and now am just running at 11x150fbs. I'm waiting for track tape right now which should work on my xp since I have put solder on my L1 bridge post. I hope this fix my problem with .5x.

So easy, you can use "correction pen".

Well, to overclock it I went to the Auto parts store and purchesed the rear window defogger kit. The paint worked fine and is easy to remove if you make a mistake. My only problem was that the super glue leaked under the tape and caused me some difficulties. But other than that, everything went smooth!!!
I am probably going to get an 1800 and see how fast I can get it going!!! ;-))))) Now, with a hurricane 6cu, I can get to 1.6mhz at 1.8v. My temp runs idle at 98 and 105 at max load.
I recommed buying the strongest magnifying glass you can find because even with the one I bought, it is still alittle difficult to get a good look at the bridges.

First,I come from Hong Kong,my english is not enough;)
correction pen mean if you use a pen write wrong, you can use the correction pen to correct it.
then the correction pen can fill in the L1,after that you can use
2B~4B pencil to connect the L1.The multiplier should be unlocked~

I tried unlocking my xp1800 and after the 4th time it wouldnt run at all . I say screw unlocking if you want to gamble go ahead its not worth the mhz cause cpus are cheap anyway. Now if you could get 200 to 400 mhz yeah its worth it . Not 100-150mhz
i did have my xp 1533 mhz running at 1.65 but it wasnt stable at 11x 150fsb. Its not worth the 120 mhz overclock . Now if you get a xp1700 which is 1.4 and overclock it to 1.67 yeah thats saving money and getting a good overclock .

I bought a 1500+ and put it to 2000+at 13x133 stable i think any Xp if unlocked right should hit 2000+ if not higher with colder temps..

Actually, I did get 200 mhz........1400 to 1600.........and with my Asus Ti200 running at 240/540, Id say I got a decent system performance increase for nothing but a little time and effort.
And yes, on some games (Wolfenstein and Commanche4 for example) there is actually a noticible difference between my system running at default speed and fully overclocked.
However, I can inderstand why you feel the way you do.....I would have a sour taste in my mouth if I fried my processor too........especially an 1800+ or 1900+.......my sympathies.
Brian
P.S. Are you sure its fried............did you get all the conductive off??
