upgrading video card

I have a x1900xt 512mb with q6600 cpu.I'm just an occasional gamer and was wondering if I upgrade to the latest video card will it increase overall pc performance or will it just increase my gaming performence?

It will probobly only increase gamming, but gamming is only good at full settings so you should upgraid to a 8800gts 512.

I would go for the 8800gt. its cheaper and very close to the performance since he is not a hardcore gamer.
