Assuming the rig is stable, try assigning more memory to the vm's. The 2619's seem to require more memory than most wu's.
I've been getting 2619 x 2 on one machine for a few days now with no issues. I'd given each vm 748MB ram.

Try running it with the "sudo" command leading....it looks like it isn't saving/deleting anything.

Can you explain this?cd into the folder, type:

sudo ./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9

It will ask you for your password, just use your own account's password. You don't need that forceasm, that is implied.

I will try this as soon as the first one completes and sends. It is at 98%. Then I will restart both using this and increased ram setting.

Is that while running it with sudo???

EDIT: You didn't run the update by any chance did you?

0x0 errors are Unix Specific and under Linux this error often can be related to Glibc incompatibility

If this is VMWare, nuke it and re-install, do NOT update the system at all.

Hell I will try anything once. Been trying to get this installed and running for 2 weeks.Instead of nuking the one you have, just create a new one.

I also would HIGHLY suggest getting the "server" version as there is no GUI by default or any other "crap" that comes with the desktop version :)

It is also easier to work with since it is completely CLI. I would be willing to help you out if you wanted to go that route.

Basically:

Install
sudo apt-get install links ia32-libs

Download the file
./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9

Done

I have never had an issue running F@H and VMWare following that ;)

See post #4 for Log.

I backed off the OC and it runs fine now.

Strange thing, I ran a Boat load of Benchies in windows at some good speeds and then installed my Ubuntu hdd & it errored out.

I guess Linux is a bit more touchy than windows.

Back off you overclock.

I think it is unstable.

Let me see if I can find my post ChasR helped me with reciently.

Reg smp runs fine on this setup. Have been for months.

Ok, you are talking FAH client, not OS now.

Which Ubuntu do you have that you are trying to install on?

I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner. The problem you're having is related to memory assigned the VM, p2619 AND Ubuntu's default swap file size which, for some reason (probably based on the size of the virtual drive), varies from install to install. P2619 takes 800 MB by its self. If you have only 700 MB in the vm and a smallish swap, the WU dies when memory and swap space get used up. Make sure your machine isn't configured for -adv WUs and delete the work dir, queue.dat and machinedependent.dat until you are no longer assigned a p2619 and you may not get another.

This machine has 4gigs of ram, would it not be easier to just increase available ram to each vm? And it completed that 2619.

ChasR
04-01-08, 09:13 PM
Sure, give each VM 1 GB of ram and it'll work fine and stay out of the swap file most of the time. However, you may find you want to avoid p2619 because of lower ppd than p2653 and p2605 and if you get one on each VM, ppd goes down significantly.

I took your advice and fixed both. Now running 2x 2605 Thanks for advice. Have another question! When I start to work or change one vm, should I first shutdown the secondvm. I noticed when I shut down one vm to make changes, the second errored. Or was it because I was running 2x 2619??

I have a Q6600 running in a P5B Deluxe, that does not allow me to enable the vanderpool option. Does anyone know if there is a different bios for this mobo that allows enabling this. Would like to install 2 units on it.
Got it. Just had to shut down, turn off psu. restart and go direct to bios. Then you can enable vanderpool.

I tried to install on the P5B Deluxe. Setup same as the first rig, but this one will not find the ia32-libs. Will not show updates available. Tried downloading ubuntu 7.10 twice and same thing.

I too had some issues running FAH on Ubuntu 7.10 64bit but don't have any issues running Ubuntu 6.06 64bit under VMware and after updates ia32-libs are already there.

ChasR

7.10 should run on a P5B deluxe. I've got it running fine on the P5B vanilla, Commando, P5K vanilla, P5K Premium WI/FI. You need to have the network cable plugged in when you install Ubuntu for it to auto configure network access and security settings. You probably can't download any packages at all, not just ia32-libs.
