Well here's the situation. I'm currently running Vista with all my programs, etc. on my 7200 rpm 7200.8 hard drive. Since Vista performs poorly in the 3DMark benchmarks (especially the older ones) I was thinking of installing Windows XP for the forum wars on one of my older hard drives, but it's 5400 rpm SATA Hitachi.

Will this affect benchmark performance a lot?

TIA

No, you have a good plan. Right now Vista should only be used for wPrime, PCMark05 and anyone running CFX.

Well, after reading your response I went ahead and did it and got a 515 point boost in 3DMark06. At stock speeds in Vista I got 11495 while with XP I got 12010. I haven't had a chance to test out the other benchmarks but I definitely will soon. Thanks!
