What is the coldest temps you can get using waster cooling? thanks everone

depends on what type you could run peltier setups and watercooling and get sub zero temps...

Just using regular water a nice water setup will usually cool to a few degrees above ambient.

You can also add pelts to a water setup and bring the temps below ambient but that requires a lot more work and care.

the reson I ask is I thought of using freon to cool the water cool sys but i have read if you get below freezing the cpu chips will crack and damage the cpu. so I was checking with yall to see how cool i could keep an O/C system

the chip would have to be I think -50c in order for it to crack so I think your alright

I think a couple of people are using freon setups here that can help you out more

In contolled phase change setups (direct on-die refrigeration) AMD ran an early T'bird @ 1G in 1998 at -50C. There are a number of people running similar setups at present. There are no real problems with current refrigerants. I am running sub-0 as you can see. There is research going on at some of the engineering labs to try to achieve 0K (-270?C).

Water cooling is usually above ambient no noise!

You can add extreme mods like a TEC or a peltier that will go down to sub zero temps but you need a powerful water cooling set already because you need to cool it DOWN to get sub zero.

I heard anything some what close to -100 Celius will cause the CPU to damage.
