GF2MX400 BIOS/ID screen

Can someone help me understand this? Specifically the "Not for Production" thing. Is it just the card BIOS that's the engineering sample or the whole card? Yes, I know that sound like a stupid question. :)

Is it a card you got at a computer show?

Years back I bought a 1meg isa video card ( as an upgrade!) at a show, and while it worked well I later found out that it was a never released card. Just an engineering test sample.

The card still works but of course there never has been any support of any kind.
