We'll go with the same rules as last year with two exceptions: 1. We'll talk about whether the number of points for victory need to change or remain the same. For those of you that don't remember, it was 1 million points. 2. Many members @ MPC would like to extend an invitation to HardOCP and OCAU to join in on the fun. Would you guys be for or against this?

If you guys want to, the contest is a go on cinco de mayo at 12pm pacific time.

I have been in semi-contact with Gary (Sr Monkey) off and on over the last 6 months.

Now, I am not speaking for him here.

But as an FYI for you all (ya'll :D ) He has moved/ has no internet connection and his e-mail stopped working. :eek:

What I need next is for you guys is discuss amongst yourselves and elect a team captain. Gary was team captain last year. It doesn't matter who it is, I just ask that the person you guys elect has good communication skills and checks with the other team captain(s) regularly.

I'll be team captain for MPC.

I don't know if we are going to re-use our folding name from last year ("maximum_monkey") or vote for another one.

Also, are you guys OK if we extend an invitation to [H] and OCAU to participate this year?

Another note, mainly for you guys that are new to this contest, is that there is a considerable amount of smack talk generated during the contest. Most of it is good natured but some can get a little out of hand. Take the latter with a grain of salt and don't get any feelings hurt. It's all good in the end.

As far as the number of points for this contest, I don't think 1 million will suffice due to the points inflation since the last contest. I'm thinking that somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 million to 2 million would be better. It's totally up for discussion. After these issues are hashed out I'll post the official rules on the forums of all the participating teams.

Acid informed me minutes ago that an Intel Q9300 has only a 7.5x multiplie :bang headr. As an overclocker anything lower than 9x is considered shameful according to the Overclocker Bushido code. 9x or higher is the only way to victory!

On that note, I'll convince my Q6600 friend to start folding with me again.

I prefer a million. Its fine for us little folks to go all in for an extended period but any one with big numbers and lots of clients....well its a lot of work.
