View Full Version : 9800 GTX Compatible Blocks
Hey, I know there was a post about/similar to the compatibility of a full cover water block for the 9800 GTX but I couldn't find it.
Now that the 9800 GTX has been released, anyone know for sure if any of the existing G92 full cover water blocks would fit on the 9800 GTX? I'm interested specifically in the Danger Den IONE or the one by EK.
I know DD's team has one 'in the works' which leads me to believe their existing G92 solution doesn't fit the 9800 GTX, but anyone can confirm?
Thanks in advance.

That's something I would like to know also.
But I found a few articles about the upcoming water blocks for the 9899 GX2 and GTX.

There is also another block out there, that cost about $300 bucks. Which I know no one would be dumb enough to get it. But you never know.
I hope this helps you out.
Socket eh?

I saw somewhere last week that EK is working on a 9800 block too, so I'd guess no.
blastflow one is on preorder, already has the 9800gx2 done

Thanks, will definitely check it out. But it looks like I'll have to skip it entirely with the 9900's just around the corner.

Im looking for the same thing.. A 9800 GTX water block that isnt as much as the card itself...
Looks like i may just need to stick to the fan until something decent gets released :(
my best suggestion is get a gpu block only and just stick some sinks on the rest with a 120 blowing across it, to be honest in all my experience the memory will max out way before heat is a factor, course I mainly deal with ati cards now-a-days currently just running hd3870 and ram overclocked from 1176ish to around 1390ish and it's cold to touch with crappy alu sinks on it, vrm is a different story voltmodded, time to make a custom vrm block!

From what i hear the 9800 GTX with its stock air cooling is sufficient.. So maybe i will skip this all together and just run a loop through the processor only.

So far I've not heard about the 9800GTX, but Asetek, makers of the VapoChill has now announced the availability of the GeForce 9800 GX2 cooler.
