To boost my PPD I decided to install Ubuntu on a VM.
It installed fine and auto updated over 200 updates.
Since the auto update the network has stopped working, it worked perfectly b4 the update.
Now the icon at top right for network says "no network connection" when i put the pointer over it.
Any ideas?

Nuke it and don't install updates :)
That broke it for me too the first time.

Basically:

"sudo apt-get ia32-libs"
Download f@h
Config f@h
Let it runIf I did updates on mine, it broke it completely (couldn't even boot).

Download the 7.10 SERVER edition. It uses less resources, much less. Also, please note, no gui if you get that version, it is pure command line. I would be happy to walk you through it if you want, it is well worth it.

asus p5k, the middle rig in my sigLooks like the chip does do 64bit, but not virtualization. Did you check everywhere in the BIOS...mine is in the CPU options (or something similar to that).
