Comcast South Jersey Connection issues

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with comcast today.

Got a call from my sister about certain webpages not loading. My son is here and could not get on webkinz. My aunt cant run her AOL browser.

Messenger is working fine.

I assume its one of two things,

a) Comcast is blocking ports that need to function properly (assuming that webpages need more then port 80 for certain web2.0 features)

b) DNS issue. Although why it would half load a page does not really support that.


Anyone else having these problems? (I am going to look for root DNS servers and give that a try).

I live in South Jersey and got rid of Comcast long ago, nothing but problems.... Sorry this does not answer your question. I will ask my friends if they are having any problems...

Yes, absolutely. I changed out my Athlon single core to a dual core today and when I rebooted everything went fine. But when I tried to access the internet everything loaded but three minutes into my surfing things just froze.

So I thought it was the fact that it was an XP thing and dual cores. I installed both the Windows hotfix and the AMD Dual Core Optimizer. I was still getting issues and so I thought it might be infected. Did scans a nd clean-up. Nothing. I reset my router and modem -- nothing. I disabled my firewall and tha seemed to help... but its really NOT a help.

Now realizing that others in South Jersey are having issues I am actually relieved.

Northfield, outside of AC but actually much closer to Ocean City. I live 6 miles from the 9th Street Bridge which leads from Somers Point into OC.

Speaking of Deptford, I have to head up that way soon to get my Driver's License straightened out. Apparently I was issued two numbers :P and they can not fix it t the local DMV (or whatever its called now).

You've got that right! I live on Zion Road in that stretch between the small Baptist Church and the small Nazarene church (between Mill and Oak ave.)
