Does anyone know the CFM and db rating for a Sanyo Denki 80mm #109P0812A201 cooling fan? Trying to compare my CPU Temps to CFM ratings.

Have looked at several vendors sites, and even the Sanyo site, but can't find anything.

Many thanks, Bill

Bill, CFM isn't all to consider. Also consider the thickness of the fan. Most 80mm fans are 25mm or less thick. There are a few out there that are 32mm or more thick and they do a better job on a heat sink because they can push the air harder down into the fins. Faster is important, but harder is a close second.

I looked it up for you so here it goes. The fan is 80mm x 80mm x 32mm, .36 amp, 53c.f.m. @ 4600RPM, 45DBA. Hope this helps.

Just today I put -2- 60mm Sanyo Denkis on my Alpha as I soundproofed my case today with this rubber I happened to find a couple days ago, it was a Foam rubber material that some fool just threw away and it had a $159 price sticker still on it.

The stuff was easy to cut and was 1/2" thick and after adding the Sanyo Denki fans my case is almost completly silent and I can only hear my front intake fan.

Sanyo Denkis and Pabst Fans are the best built fans IMHO as they are heavier and usually have dual bearings.

SidewinderComputers has a 92mm Sanyo Denki in thier Listening Room (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/tecar.html)

Thanks a bunch, just what I wanted. Where in the heck did you find it?

Ya, I really like mine. It came on my Swiftech 462. It pushes a lot of air and is pretty quiet. Mine has two plugs, one four hole for power and one small 3 hole for RPM - cool to have both.

I just got some silencing foam from 2Cool (not as good deal as yours) but haven't tried it yet.

I stuck a piece of scrap foam on the wall behind my puter to stop the rear fan and power supply sound from echoing, it helped some and cost nothing.

Bill :)

I found it at www.sidewindercomputers.com under fans and grills then go to the 80 - 120mm.
