Can I use say an Abit Bios on a Shuttle Board if they both have the same chipset (KT133A) to gain functionality that I don't have now ?????????

I've read about people doing that. It could work, and it could leave you with a dead board. I wouldn't try it unless I had a BIOS chip with the correct BIOS as a spare. If you had a spare BIOS chip, you could do a hot swap with your present BIOS chip, and program it with the BIOS you want to try using Uniflash. But this is all risky stuff, so the payoff should be worth it. Otherwise I wouldn't try it. For more info on hot swaps, and to get Uniflash if you want it, go to Wim's BIOS. Good luck!

Sorry, it wont work. The BIOS is written for more than the chipset, but also the board...
You can give it a try, it will not damage anything (changing the chips, a flashing of the wrong BIOS will)

But i would put $$$ against it working.. heck i would even bet sticks of RAM

If your PC has a RESTORE CD (such as comes with HP or Compaq) then you probrably won't be able to use your CD to restore software if you change your bios.

just try those CD's on any other puter to see what i mean.

It wont work... BIOS content is different for every manufacturer... unless theres a Universal BIOS out there...huh!!!!!
