It’s a stretch, but I wonder if it has anything to do with Apples past environmental ratings.
Last year they were rated the least environmentally friendly computer maker. Reports stated that more of Apples e-waste ended up in 3rd world landfills than any other. With the recent boom of claming to be “environmentally conscious” for marketing purposes by today’s corporations, the logo issue might have something to do with Apples future plans to clean up their act.
However, more than likely, Apple is just being Apple. I can’t think of another business that is more protective (and egotistical) of their product and name. Well…maybe Disney. Remember that Apple thinks that they should be paid whenever a lower case “i” is used in a products name.
