As I'm new to the folding arena I guess you could say I am officially addicted to it. So I figured I would post my current folders and their specs, and I'll get pictures later on.

Anyway that's the farm... hopefully I'll get around to getting a few pictures soon. I'm also in the process of grabbing a new X3360 CPU for my main rig, so that'll add another productive CPU to the farm!

Nice! Do you know the PPD on the 3110? Just curious.

That looks to be a pretty impressive farm you have there. Just remember, on the DC and QC rigs, you are better off running the SMP client, so long as they are running long enough to complete the WU's. I am not sure if you have gotten an official :welcome: to the team yet, so :welcome: to T32. We are glad to have you folding along side us. If you have any questions, feel free to post them up, and if you can be of any assistance to a new member, you are more than welcome to post your ideas.

Nice! Do you know the PPD on the 3110? Just curious.

As the E3110 is my daily rig it doesn't fold 24/7, I suspect once my X3360 gets here I will be able to give you some results from it. It seems to do well though as it is running project 2653 and seems to be chuggin along. I guess I could post some time frames from it and calculate a rough estimate of PPD.

That's impressive!

You can use the excellent utility FahMon, to monitor your FAH clients, AND calculate your PPD, as well.

It's free, and recommended: http://fahmon.net/

Just as a heads up-
#5. Dual P3 650mhz Slot 1, 24/7 SMP Folder.

I believe it will have to be set up with 2- Uni clients. Unless something has changed with SMP recently, it won't make the deadlines.

Nice!

Chalk up another one guys... he's hooked. :D

...and donuts is correct. That dual PIII won't make deadlines and thus won't be credited with completed work. Best set it up using 2 standard clients.

I think you may need to add memory to this system , and #5 I think , I already deleted it from the post , but arent the new proteins taking more than 512mb of memory ? or the 512's were crashing at 100% ?

Per the FAH GPU2 FAQ (http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-ATI2).

The 3870 X2 has not been tested with both cores active, but running on 1 core does currently work.

Hopefully they'll get it worked out soon so we can see what the card is really capable of. :)

I can't seem to get FAH Mon to pickup on the GPU clients, when I add the client it just says n/a.

prime81
04-14-08, 12:56 PM
Well just to clarify I've finally got some numbers for everyone.

These are from FAH Mon...

Q6600 G0 @ 2.4ghz = 2097PPD
E3110 @ 4ghz = 1793PPD

As you can see the Quad definitely stomps on even the newer dualies, however I just received my X3350 so it will be an interesting comparison to the Q6600. On a side note I cannot get FAHMon to pickup on my GPu clients running on my 2900pro and 3870x2, any ideas?

I think "standard" 1760pt WUs are getting a little less available... I'm seeing a few more p3050-p3052 and a couple p3065 on my rigs. PPD is a bit less with these WUs across the board, I'd say ~200ppd less on average.

No p3060 for me yet... let us know how that one runs for you prime. :)

She's running at stock 2.66ghz currently... I'm working on getting it stable for 3.6-3.8. I cant seem to get 450fsb to load windows for some reason, and I've tweaked and tweaked. I can fly anything below 435 on Auto but above that it takes some major tweakin to get my board to do what it should.
