acess files remotely

i got win xp home, and i want to acess file on my computer from anywhere, especially school. i dont want to use remote assistance, because it wont work. Any ideas on what software i can download to acess my files?

If you want to control the actual PC then you'll need something like PCAnywhere or Remote Administrator or the likes.

If you just want to access certain files then you could run an FTP server such as SERV-U FTP Server and access using an FTP client or browser.
