How come nvidia isnt faster than this in releasing a driver that fixes the "infinite loop" thing with the Detonator XP drivers? I mean, i want the best performance with my computer but with these drivers i have to compromise to get them to work.

try this (http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=64) for a fix until something better comes out.

After installing the 23.11, i did but it didnt work. Went back to the 22.80, still had the problem. Went back to my original drivers (21.83) and all seems fine, thats why i was asking:D

Ok, i installed a bunch of patches to see if i could make my system a bit more stable ( PCI latency patch, Agp drivers, VIA 4in1's) so far so good.....

Aslo to add, when you do get the BSOD from "infinite loop", it is also a good sign that yout BIOS and settings are incorrect, so also keep this in mind too.

My bios settings couldnt be less aggressive than they are now. Everthing is at its slowest setting, nothing is shadowed. I did everything that was suggested on viaarena. For now the problem seems to be fixed, but you never know...

everyone pretends that Nvidia driver support is perfect, but it isnt theyre jut better a PRing it to maek it look better, personally i like drivers such as those for intel mobos, you install it once and never worry about upgrading drivers again.....

I wouldnt say thats exactley true ,it only happens in XP/2000 ,also it doesnt always happen, the last thing is it only happens after hte 21.83 drivers,I havent had the problem and everything I have is set to the max in my bios,my 3d mark score is now 8311 :)

Yes ,but what does it tell you?It tells me that not everyone has the problem.I havent had any major problems with Nvidia myself but ,my last ati card did have problems,I got an awesome new driver for it which improved everything ,but certain opengl and direct 3d apps refused to run and always locked the system dead ,but it was never random ,always the same things ,the one that really killed me was wintune99 ,at the time it was my favorite benchmark and without the abitlity to use it to test my card what good was it.I also know that you cannot play CS 1.3 without a certain patch or you get an overflow error with any ati card ,why is that?

well about CS 1.3 if it wasnt fixed in ATIS next drivers and was a patch to CS, i think thats probably Valve's problem and not ATIS.......and also with the nesest drivers, i think the situation is just like Nvidias, not everyone is having a problem, just some, there are people that say the drivers are crap and dont the job (Ritteri, Eliminator, SilversinkSam) and people who have no problems whatsoever (bbolaro, meKboy, nickcw, and several others)......i think its just annoying that people act like Nvidia is the IDEAL when it comes to drivers.....they have problems as well, and youll see a lot of them in the video card forums ( a lot more than i see problems with ATI, of course there is a higher percentage of Nvidia users)....every day there is at least 1-2 more people wondering why their Nvidia card isnt running as it should.....im not saying that their driver support isnt better than ATI, im just saying its not better by the margin that most people seem to suggest...

Although, when i compare my problems i had with my Vivo and the problems i have with my Ti200, i like my Ti200 more.

well its not Valve's problem, cause unlike Quake 3, CS was not written to bost results, adn build ATI's ego, knowing that there card didnt stand up to nvidia, not that they dont now, but they didnt used to. I had a Radeon 64 VIVO, and could NOT play cs even with the patch. Got back my GF2 and get mad framerates
