View Full Version : new way to OC on cheap boards
hey what do u guys think about this
http://www.plycon.com/goldsock.htm
i found a link to it on another post and wondering what u guys think as most of u know i cant oc on my board and have been looking into some ways of fixing that prob of mine..
I have been using those for over a month now. Not very convienent but they do work. If your using a single cpu motherboard your better off spending another $50 and getting a good motherboard.

You should have post this earlier.. heheheeh :o
I end up cutting my motherboard, soldering it and add dipswitch for the multiplier. Grrrr it a pain in the butt. (_)(_)
Imagine cutting and connecting all those little wire on the board.
but I think I'll try one of those....
:D :D

Not too bad though, at least its working hehe, but I don't need to worry.. I have 2 good OCer friendly mobo's. This device really looks good, only if it have a easier access to the dipswitches...
yeah i found that odd.. it leaves for no testing back and forth end less u want to take the hsf and chip off over and over again till u find ur "sweet spot" it would have been better if they mounted the dipswitches on the side or something..
hmmm would that work with an xp i wonder.....
You'd still have to unlock the XP.
It seems like a very good idea, but the dips should be placed differently. Maybe on an extended arm-ish thing, out from the side (away from HS clips and ZIF arms, of course).
anyone know if the trace tape they showed would work with an xp to unlock?
