Anybody know anything about PNY's vidcards?
I haven't heard anything good or bad about them.... well I haven't heard anything about them.... and for some reason my computer doesn't want me to look up reviews on http://www.google.com
(everytime I hit enter on google for "PNY video card reviews" my computer locks up..... but _ONLY_ on that text :eh?: .... my computer hates me ::grumbles:: )

I was a little sketched about buying a PNY Ti500 but I can say after owning it for a few months and making some major cooling mods, I am very pleased.
The only downside that I've seen in most articles/reviews is that the PNY cards tend to run hot. My card was no exception. I chose to void the warranty and remove the heatpad over the GPU.
I added a copper shim w/ AS2 on both sides and reaplied the Heatsink. Also removed the stock fan and added a 36cfm fan on an arm to really cool the card!
All told, with the mods, I can get a stable 265core/580memory. PNY cards are cheaper because they use their own memory (which seems to be sweet) in production.
Good luck on your final decision.

WOW! That's awesome!
Also... I bought a PNY GeForce2, and I am very pleased with the card.... the memory on the card is very overclockable (4ns SDRAM), and I personally have not had heat trouble, with the exception of wanting to add ramsinks
oh yea, and the cards are a little cheaper (good deal if you ask me)

i have a pny geforce3 ti200, and i can't think of one negative thing to say about it. it's been a pleasure so far :)
I had a pny geforce 3 ti200. worked great out the box and it overclocked very well. I had it at 240x510 from the stock of 175x400. I would recomend them to anyone.

I had the PNY GeForce2 MX400 and it was a very god card. Wish I still had it.
I'll jump in here too. I bought a PNY GF3 Ti200 a couple of weeks ago from Newegg.com for $159.00 and I'm very pleased. O/C's to 255/560 with stock cooling. I pulled off the GPU heatsink expecting a pad but it had thermal paste. I replaced it with some ASII and a Tt Crystal Orb. Still can't get the core stable past 260 but it sure is a sweet card and 255/560 is still a very respectable O/C for a Ti200.

PNY, although a rather new company makes excellent products, they have the best PCB traces and use a great 6 layer pcb board. Fully recommended. We sell them and have yet to have any problems with QC.

That's great to hear! Always good to know you made a wise investment eh!?! PNY is an American firm based out of New Jersey!! Tom's Hardware has a great shootout of 21 different Ti boards..of all types. The PNY Ti500 was up there w/ the better known brands.
Here's the link (http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic/01q4/011218/geforce-ti-17.html).

Thought I'd throw in my 2¢.
I have the PNY GeForce3 TI 200 and I can only say positive things about it.
I've only been able to get my core clock rate up to 205 before I get artifacts but Ive run it at 230 and it will make it through 3dmark21 I just get little green dots. I can clock the memory up pretty high I've gone as high as 560 with no problems haven't tried any higher. All an all it's a good card and I'm happy with it.

Is this the same PNY that makes crappy memory? Last I knew, PNY had crap memory, yet everyone says their GF3 is a great board. What's the deal?

Thats is correct...they have had a bad in ghistory in the past with poor products. However it seems they became aware of this and have since cleaned up there act with great video cards. I noted that the performance on my pny geforce ti200 was outstanding but even the packaging, software, and overall presentation of the product looked top notch.
Sweet! I've heard good about the PNY GF3Ti2, but I was hesitant to buy it. But with so many good reviews, how could I go wrong?!
CompUSA has it for $200, but I'll probably check for someplace cheaper on-line.

Yea, that was me. i got mine about 3 weeks ago. i paid $160.00 from Newegg.com and they drop $1 the next day to $159.
Just checked and they are still $159 but, they're out of stock.

Thanks alot for all your help... just one more question..... is it's BIOS easy to get into?
Yep! I used Ray Adams Nvidia Bios editor to set my O/C speed as default, set fastwites on and disable SBA. Then used Nvfalsh to flash, after backing up original, of course.
