No problem ACID... I say you keep this on the first page of threads for a while, bump when necessary. Likely to help out quite a few folks. :)
I can say... that ThePCGuy (794613) does nearly the same thing... he helped me out getting a new cap for my Abit-KD7 about a year ago. But I had to do the work... pretty sloppy on my part, but it's been cranking out WUs ever since. :D That's the TBred-B in my sig... :D

I haven't seen blown caps since the P!!! era. Had various boards suffering from it and they all seemed to get it with 800Mhz or higher CPU's and thus also from OCing...

Ha, the ones I replaced recently were for a MSI K8N neo4-F.

If I remember correctly there have even been lawsuits against motherboard makers at the time for using cheap caps and no one would burn themselves using them again these days. Was that MSI board heavy OCed or something?

uhh my job has millions of dead caps. my favorite is getting dell servers with every single capacitor blown we got 5-7 of the same model with every single cap blown.

Oh man those were badass back in the day. Do you want me to fix it for you and send it back, or do you want to get rid of it?

no its the dell dell precision's i forgot which model number. UHh, We have 1-2 rooms of just dead motherboards and stuff. so yea... lol we may or may not throw them out but my co-worker is a genius and can repair almost anything. we usually use all our dead things for spare parts.
