Ok, so here's the deal .. first my specs

Celeron II 600 @ 820 MHz (1.75 V)
GlobalWin WBK-38 HS/F
Abit BX-133 RAID
256 mb SDRAM (2*128 MB)
Asus V7100 GeForce2 MX
Quantum Fireball 15.2 GB HD (60gb IBM on the way)

if you want/need to know any other specs I can tell you, but that should be enough.. :)

so .. before I bought this celeron2 I had heard that you didn't have to do anything to get it to 900 MHz .. and then after that it might be harder, but you should at least get to 900 MHz with this one .. well, I've had it for quite some time now running at 820 .. and I'd want to get to 900 MHz now ..

Temperature is not an issue since it never gets higher than 40 C .. and I've tried higher V to with no success .. 1.75 is the highest voltage that you can set by default, but there's programs that can make it go even higher ..

What I now wonder is .. is there any way for me to get it go higher without buying any new hardware .. any tips?

Try burning it in with a program like Seti or CPUBurn since they allow you to at least use your system while you burn-in the computer.

By the way the method to a more efficent burn-in is lower FSB so go back to 600mhz and 1.75v.

And maybe after weeks or so you should be able to gain more.

What stepping is your chip??

Voltage....did you try user define to increase voltage??

Also, you might check CPU database....link on main page

What motherboard are you using?

I have been in a similar situation,

had a celly 600 @ 900 on an Abit BH6, max voltage I could choose was 1.7V. It would boot at 1008mhz but was unstable.

I found out about the "reflash trick" that works on this motherboard and some other BX Abit boards.

Ya set the voltage to max, then reflash the bios, and what was the max should then become the default so you can then select even higher voltage. It let me select up to 1.9v, but was stable with 1.8V at 1008mhz

good luck,

max out that celeron!!

I have a little nice program that allows you to set the voltage up to 3.50 I think it is.

I used this program on my old bx 133 raid board and it worked great! :)

I had my 600@1018 at 2.05 voltage with a Fop 32-1 on it.

Mail me at danzig@engelholm.se and I will send it to you.

I think anything over 2v is dangerous and your gambling.

Yea the reflash trick will work on the older Abit mobos.

It works like set your voltage at the max it can go and reflash your bios at that and it'll think that is your default v and you can pick more like airflow briefly explained.

So getting from your picture it never gets over 40 celius you should be fine.

Stop when it gets near 45 celius since your looking to be at a great position.

On Intels spec. you can read that max voltage it "can" handle is 2.10. So with good cooling I think 2.00 is no problem. I know some guys running it at 2.20 voltage. That is gambling! :)

Well, do as you like. If you want this CPU for several years and don't have any money to buy a new CPU if this one get fried. Take it easy and don't use high voltage.

Otherwise put the voltage at 2.00 and clock as much as the CPU can handle!

This is just my opinion.

ok I might try that ... but the thing is, if I remember correctly is that I already tried 2.0 V and it didn't make any difference .. well I maybe got it to run somewhat stable on 845 MHz or something like that .. but when I overclock I want it rockstable or I won't overclock .. and 25 MHz extra isn't that much ..

Maybe I should just pay a couple of bucks to get an 1 or 1.1 GHz Celeron2 ..

I think you just be one of those people who are out of luck sometimes :/

If you really want to dish out money for the 1gig go for it.

I haven't heard big stuff about the 1.1 Celeron although the 1 gig clocks to 1327 easily in this case.

Up to you if you really need the speed.

well, I know a good hardware store where I live where you get really great prices for old stuff you want to sell, so I can just sell my cpu and buy a new one from the same place and I probably just have to pay something like 50-70 $ in between .. so maybe I will do that .. or I'll just save some money for a completely new system. The problem is that I'm kinda out of money at the moment, I recently bought a new hd .. IBM 60GXP 60 gig .. sweet ass hd btw. Really nice results when I did a HWiNFO test .
