View Full Version : Fans
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if any of you could help me. I understand "the bigger- the better" concept when talking about heatsink fans, but noise is a big issue for me. Most of the specs have DBA levels and so on. However that doesnt really help me if I dont know how what those numbers really mean. For example, is 42 DBA loud? How does it compare to most generic retail intel fans? Thanks in advance
Generic Intel fan is noiseless, its like 15-20dBA.
42dBA is average if you compare it to "loud" 50+ dBA is loud.
Go to http://www.sidewindercomputers.com and on the left they have a menu "Hear Our Fans"
But water cooling is the quiest and the most efficent cooler.
If you have good air flow in your case you can just put your covers back on and you'll barely hear the fan and it'll sound like your old Intel fan.
