X3 works flawless. Just gotta make sure after you install to update the install to the latest revision before starting the game. This removes the starforce drivers, which doesn't work in Vista64 anyways so just do that and it will fire right up.

Mmm great game, very complex, very fun.

Wow. I just fired it up last night. With Xtended and a few other scripts, and the cockpit callback mod...its freekin pretty.

A huge difference in visuals from my old AMD gaming system.

I have to say this game, being so old, blows away lots of games today in the world of eye candy. And one of the ONLY games that I still play after years.

Indeed. Can't wait to see what they will be releasing later this year. Can't remember if its a expansion or a full standalone game thats using a revised X3 engine if not mistaken.

Truely I can't wait to see what they come up with for X4.

An open ended space based simluator. Where you can fight, trade, explore, etc.... Hours of game play with more or less an open storyline. There is a beginning and ending mission but you never need to do the storyline to actually play the game itself.

Warning...if you start it...you WONT stop playing.

Its like Eve but offline. You can own factories, trading craft, capital ships...

Its one the toughest learning curve games I have ever played, but it makes it fun!

The Terran Conflict! Standalone. And the biggest X3 game yet...according to them.

Has anyone had issues with having to underclock your video card to get X3 to run for more than 30 seconds? I have the DVD 2.0 version.

I never heard of that. Make sure you are patched up to date.

Ran this on my 6600gt's, 7900gt's, 7950gt's, and 8800gts.

Just remember the folks at the egosoft.com boards are REAL helpful. You WILL be asking for help :)

Fell free to PM questions too. I am an X3 junkie.
