WOW a New Watercooler came out on top compared to the swiftech cheaper and easyer to install. check out the results here http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q1/020102/watercooling-12.html
OK..........
I know I'm a noob and all but those graphs suffer from a severe lack of information? (as in comparative?)

Seeker you are dead on! Tom's is really starting to get annoying.

Yes i agree the graphs could be a little more full of info but how much info can you have on one graph before it gets cluttered

What's with the headline? Is 2 degrees really a "Smash" at 59C? Maybe on the Fox Network....Where CPUs Attack Coolers!
Maybe "Bests" would be more appropriate than "Smashes" in this case.
Anyone else notice that the cooler measuring station was made by Innovatek?
Those graphs are a real precision work of art too :)

just wanted to point out that there is a new cooler that is better then swiftech and easy to install for the average Joe.. There are better coolers then what is posted here its just that those coolers are a little bit harder to install..

Thats one of Tom's most unbiased reviews ever...

Remember Tom's recent venture into high performace watercooling using a Senfu block? LOL!

LOL Ok now I know just confused me at first HAHAH :D
Ed just put up a blurb about this on the front page (http://www.overclockers.com). He thinks that Tom was using the Swiftech setup without fans. Tom, Tom, Tom....

Ed is still going strong after his book review.
:p
I smell a Watergate investigation brewing and the headline reads, ' Tom admits to congress he crippled the Swiftech so that Innovatek appeared to have won the Waterblock roundup, in return Innovatek supplied Tom with a lifetime supply if orange Cool-Aid and $50 '

I didn't even notice that "Swiftech bases its system on a passive heat exchanger that runs without a fan" comment in Tom's review. I honestly didn't pay enough attention as it would never occur to me that anyone would use a wc rad with no fan.
What did occur to me was the way Tom seemed to really want to make Innovatek look good in any way possible.
Do you think Innovatek gave him that nifty CPU heat simulator? Let me phrase that a better way. Do you think Tom -paid- for that nifty CPU heat simulator?

the review was awful,
as ed said, swiftech does not mean their system to be used without a fan.
it is amazing that the swiftech managed to get to a couple of degrees of the innovetech without fans on the rad. get the swiftech

I still think that there are better waterblocks then the swiftech.. example Z4 block from www.overclockershideout.com or they have new waterblocks at www.overclock-watercool.com i think that he only used the swiftech as that was the only block he got for free.

This might soung trivial or biased but if Ed or Joe hasn't given it Two thumbs up, I don't buy it ( cooling gear).
I never read a single review that tom puts out for the reasons mentioned above. The swiftech kit is meant to be used with a fan as mentioned at there site : www.swiftnets.com . There kit is very invative with the coolest bleeding system i have seen. There blocks may perform just a tad worse than maze2 or Z4 block but there quality flatout beats anything around. If i do build another water setup it will be based around swiftechs products.

what a ringer. that HAS to be one of the most unprofessional reviews i have ever seen

Damn, I can't believe he keeps chruning out "reviews" as bad as this. The fan issue wasn't the only error.. it was littered with inaccuracies, and was incredibly lacking in detail.
I think he revealed the motivation for the biased review in the article itself. Did you guys notice that his new toy (the heatsink tester) was from Innovatek?
Or maybe it's a German vs. French thing. :) Innovatek is a German company and Gabriel from Swiftech is a French guy. Isn't the majority of Tom's staff from Germany? Guess the Maginot line still doesn't work.

I think this is the third time in 6 months in which I have stated the obvious.
"Tom is simply a moron."
And yet again he supplies me with the proof straight off his own site. Wouldn't be bad if this was just a personal opinion, but when you pull the proof of his own site...

for motherboads that you can't use the four holes in the mb. (dual mp boards)due to no holes or lack of space the best 2 would be dangerden's 1c and swiftech's mcw372 the mounting systems for both are really good they use 3 lugs instead of 1

I hardly bother reading THG anymore because of the reviews. He's pro-Intel, and pro-Nvidia from I can tell. Does anyone remember his Koolance review and the discussions that followed that?
One important difference between the newer and older water cooling systems is that the newer systems turn out to be surprisingly rugged when it comes to installing and handling them. Long gone are the days when this kind of system was only available as a pre-assembled PC.
WTF ?
does he smoke crack ? I think he has this the other way around...
er....am I right guys ?
lol..
he still smokes crack....
