Hey everyone.

My monitor's display is messed up. My 7 year old tried installing a game while i was at work two nights ago and when i started the computer up today, the monitors display is off bigtime. The entire screen display is stretched out wide. Even on startup in bios, it is stretched out and the energy compliance thing is almost off the screen it's that bad. Anyone have any ideas? I tried installing drivers again for the monitor, and have tried adjusting the monitor. It's a HP M70 by the way. Not sure what else to try before i totally wipe the system clean and try again.

Let me know guys.. thanks

Have you tried the osd controls for the monitor?

If the screen is "funny" when the BIOS is up then the software/drivers is not the problem.
What controls does the monitor have?
Also be sure to check the cable is in tight.

Yes, it's during the bootup session and everything. For some reason it doesn't seem to be adjusting on the monitor, so i'm thinking it's something wrong with that unfortunately. I'll try more when i install my new motherboard and system.

Thanks

Ahh get into the 7 year old's brain more. When I was 7 I get my parents to buy me toys so I open them! :p

Anyways try to see if hes hiding anything.

It doesn't seem that a broken monitor can result from installing games.

Hmm I seriously don't know why its not adjusting something in the monitor could have burnt.
