hey all i havea p4 1.5@1.7 with stock hsf and i realize that my sound is getting messed up and my graphics also al little what could be the problem and #2 is that does overclocking really reduce the life of your cpu ??

your sound and graphics being screwed up would probably be due to the PCI/AGP buses not wanting to work right at the higher clock frequency...as much as I've learned about o/c'ing, yeah, it'll suck a few years offa yer chip...but you'll have a new one in 6-8 months, right? We're never satisfied....

i dont know about getting a new one that fast yet becuause im just a 14 year old kid odnt have much money but i should just leave it the way it was like i got it from the begining if i dont want anything hapening to it right?

I think the most overclocking will do is reduce the lifespan of the cpu to like 10-15 years... I'm sure you'll have a new one by then;) Did you check for PCI and AGP divider settings in your bios or on you mobo (switches.... you should check the manual)?

you should not worry about your overclock unless your CV is very high. If your CV is at a moderate level then you should get 15 years out of it [maybe more]

Some onboard sound and graphics can get messed up with High FSB settings, where are you at? and what kind of hardware do you have? there may be BIOS settings that can help.
